Liguria
Liguria is the only region in Northern Italy, together with the Garda Lake surroundings, where olives and lemon trees grow. Südtirol the famous “Taggia olives” are from here; another Ligurian product is the sweet “Sciacchetrà” wine. It’s produced in the Cinque Terre- Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore-; apart from being a famous seaside holidays and holidays at a farm destination, they were declared “World Heritage Site” by the UNESCO. Genoa is also an historic city, rich in ancient palaces and museums, known in the past as “The Superb” because of its mercantile power. The famous “Genoa International Boat Show” takes place here every year in October; it’s possible to admire wonderful yachts and nautical equipment presented by exhibitors from all over the world. Many artists have worked and lived in Genoa; the architect Renzo Piano, the singers Fabrizio de André, Luigi Tenco, Gino Paoli. Other seaside resorts in the Western part of Liguria are: Sanremo, Bordighera, Varazze, Loano, Albenga.
